we adopted this little sweetie today - abandoned at the vet's - Orion is not taking too kindly to her so far! We have till Saturday at 1 PM to take her back to the vet - I hope they reconcile. She's a feisty little thing!

I'm replying to myself because I'm surprised that in this pet-loving forum no-one responded! Maybe people still don't use the 'view active topics' alternative. Anyway, if anyone is interested, :) the kitten is still with us, Orion seems to be adapting, and David has of course given her an astronomical name: Maia (a star in the Pleiades).

I just now saw this for the first time, wonder if the posts are delayed? Maja is darling and looks right at home!

My bookmark is View Active Topics, but can't help, in transit. Hope you don't have to provide a home for Alcyone, Electra, Celaeno, Merope, Sterope, and Taygete as well! (Sorry to stick with the seven classical sisters rather than the nine astronomical ones.)

Awww! I know Orion will accept Maia soon. Orion has sat in my lap a few times and been scratched by moi. We made a short trip up to Manchac this morning to feed some feral kitties and their mama by the VFD. Here are the pictures we took https://picasaweb.google.com/115421201529350805584/ManchacMorning20120826?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCP658L-GqYOXBg&feat=directlink Then we went to say guten morgen to Chef Horst at Middendorf's then had breffus at IHOP. (Waffle House was packed!).

I thought I had posted a response to this.. no matter... I love that you adopted a new kitten. Orion will get used to it, they always do. Good for you guys. Don't bring the kitty back. You will forever regret it.

@ Chawlie - funny- you just got a huge snort out of David.
Copcop and Beth - no worries - she is staying - she's found a place in our hearts already and Orion is now mostly playing with her, with occasional hisses (Henry, you probably softened her up).
@MIL - what??
