Does anyone eat pancakes for Shrove Tuesday (Mardi Gras)?

Some of my grand kids...
actually they’ll eat pancakes every day if you allow it.

But your inquiry begs for more information...
Can you please enlighten us.

Arthur, by opening only the Food Forum instead of going to the "View active topics" page of these forums, you often miss new posts, such as Frank's recipe and back story about pancakes for Shrove Tuesday at viewtopic.php?f=42&t=14779.

Chawlie...

Thanks for the advice...
But here is my take on the issue.

i can equate my participation here like how I watch TV.
I mostly watch local news, Fox News, ESPN, EWTN and The Big Bang.
I have little interest in the other 50 zillion channels.

I come straight here because...
I have never followed a recipe and don't ever plan to
I open my fridge then check my pantry and proceed to the stove and cook.

BTW: I don't BAKE because I hate dealing with a cup of this, a pinch of that, etc.

Of course, I always have things like cream, stock, butter, many types of cheese,
Spinach, onions, garlic, green pepper, celery, pasta, tomato sauce, and dried beans available.

Also I can walk out my door and there are 4 major Supermarkets within 2 miles.
I'm in one of them daily.
I like FRESH... NOT FROZEN!!!
I don't buy meat, chicken or fish to freeze.
I do buy shrimp to freeze (Michael's on Jeff Hwy)

Chawlie,
I love your post (about food and family)
You're a Good Guy Chawlie

Ah, but this recipe had a back story that you axed about, and there are many other boards besides food and recipes. Some people actually post about non-food subjects outside of the food forum!

Happy Muddy Graw, everyone!

No Mardi Gras party this year in N. Alabama. I had a medical procedure yesterday and my son and his sons are coming in from Metairie tomorrow (it's the eldest grandson's 7th birthday) to spend a few days. I'll be cooking their favorites for them.
