Hi Everyone!

A few of us gathered for lunch today at a new Carolina-style bbq place. I loved it! I've often wished we had one in this area. Have any of you been there?

Every day's menu is a little different, depending on what meats they've been smoking overnight. But the sides are constant... and boy they are outstanding. The nachos are really good - REALLY good. :)

Potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw - many other things I can't think of right now - all unique and delicious.

As posted in the BBQ thread, no way would I contribute to the disrespect, bordering on sacrilege, inherent in using Buddha's name for a business.

That's interesting. It didn't occur to me, but we'll have to go back and ask.

Utterly remarkable how overly sensitive people are - I suspect the name is meant in jest, as the chef/pitmaster has a budda belly

I say to each his own.

As someone who has a deep spiritual practice
& is highly reverent (IMHO), is a practicing Buddhist
& has a strong Catholic foundation
(we won't talk about me wanting to be a nun
in my younger days), I have to say that it never, ever crossed
my mind that the name of this restaurant is disrespectful.

But then again, I've had a chef friend named Buddha & while he worked for
someone else, I can imagine if he had his own place ...... ;)

I also have a friend named Jesus who makes killer tacos.
If only he had a food truck.

There's enough room in this world to think whatcha wanna
without being judged for it. I'd like to see more of that.

I'd also like to see some really good BBQ & experience it!

So who's up for going in a couple of weeks?
I'll plan it.
