Okay, talked to the wife and my Momma.
St. Charles Borromeo Parish in the Yune (Picayune) is having fish fries every Friday duing Lent. I believe it is $8 for fish, fries, salad, dessert and drink. The meals are available for take out or dine in. We have not actually had the opportunity to partake because of schedules put here it is really good.

Here is the info for the St. Joseph's Altar from the bulletin:
St. Joseph Altar Society of St. Charles Borromeo
Catholic Church is making preparation to present the
Altar on Saturday, March 17 with blessing of the altar at
the 4:00 p.m. Vigil Mass, visitation ONLY from 5 to 7
pm. Open to the public on Sunday, March 18th, 10:00 am
to 2:00 pm. Donations of meatless covered dishes are requested.
Decorative cakes for the altar are also needed.
All donations should be brought to the parish hall by 2:00
pm on Wed., March 14th. Raffle tickets are also available
for purchase of the “Goodie Basket”; three tickets for
$5.00 or one ticket for $2.00.

Good news for me ilike

I'm in the Yune on Fridays quite often picking up grandkids...
Many times we search for something to eat.
I know exactly where St. Charles Borromeo Church is located.
The Fish Fry will on our radar during the next 6 weeks.

Thanks,
aboy

In what I call the 2 mile Catholic Church corridor...

From...
St Edward the Confessor pass St Mary Magdalen to Our Lady of Divine Providence.
You will find Fish Fries every Friday in Lent at these three Church.

AB (let me know if I you would rather I not shorten Aboy),
Please let me know how you like it. I will not be able to go until the last weekend in March. We are going to the NASCAR race in Bristol the first weekend I'm home. Then we will try and go the following Friday.
Thanks

AB,
Nope the lovely mountains of Bristol, TN. Actually the state line for TN and VA run right through the middle of the town. We will not be eating out much there so we will have nothing to report. We will be cooking in the motorhome and eating sandwiches at the track. That is what is cool about NASCAR, you can bring your own food and beer into the track. Don't have to pay the outrageous prices of the vendors. Wish the NFL would consider this.

Bristol, TN... My Bad! oops:

So you can bring your vittles into the stands...
From the way they pat you down in the NFL,
I would have thought they would be just a careful at NASCAR.

You know...
Truthfully I don't mind the extra scrutiny.

Gotta ask how would they get the rednecks away from the beer? They tried a coupla years ago to stop people from bringing in ice chests into Daytona but there was such an uprising they pulled the plug on that idea. As anything I just hate dealing with the drunks. We have really good seats where we don't have to deal with too many of them. Heck we are just 10 years from Winston pulling out of sponsorship and they have already no longer allow smoking in the stands. Heck we would go for a weekend of racing and come home with 10 cartons of cigs for free. I have only quit 4 years ago and already can't stand the smell of smoke.
