never tried this. good to see you back. I'm not always a breakfast person. I may have to give this a shot as an early lunch.

At Charlies Seafood restaurant in Harahan, Grillades and Grits are a Tuesday special for lunch and dinner. It's good. Their version is not tomato based. It's made with a brown gravy with the meat and seasonings stewed down very well. It's good and filling.

...Holy Carnival, Rex, Er, Batman!...

…Hold on dere, Mz Lolly; I’ll take grits anytime – morning, noon, or night!...I do grits all the time, but grillades, well, once in while: I braise the beef and sorta do a nonplussed version, not worth writing home about…But if diners here are out and about shopping for commercial grillades and grits, peep in at The Old Coffee Pot: Signature dish there! Period. Amen…Oh, caveat: Don’t know what their current menu policy is, but they yoosta only serve the dish during the dinner hours.

…BTW, Mz Lolly, your photos tempted me to wanna “reach” into the screen for a few bites…Hail Rex? Hail yeah! Hail grits and grillades? He// yes!
