Let's hope "they" write more articles like that, "they" meaning people who know and love the city, know what "they" are talking about, are realistic about racial concerns, write well, and encourage others to participate in the renovation of our fair city.

Let's just hope the tradition of "what's in it for me" doesn't drive off the business supposedly coming here like it has a habit of doing. As for NOPD you don't need new technology. You need a chief with brains and balls. A mayor that doesn't pander to the vote.

...Dang ChefPete and Mr. Chawlie: Y'awll might get Mr Lake to ban me for unfolding my portable Soap Box: It's this 'What's in it for me' thang -- sorta nation-wide and not just in the culinary industry -- that is just growing!...Instead of a "What's in it for me" offer, offer up, instead, a good idea or product -- food or otherwise -- and ask, perhaps, 'What's in this for the cosumers?' And then let IT play; and if IT succedes, it will pay "Me" something...Greed, I tells Ya!

The companies mentioned in the article already DO have quality, consumer driven products, it's up to New Orleans to keep it's hand in it's pockets when it comes to the possibilty of major businesses locating here and welcoming them instead of expecting them to grease palms and cater to the derelict old business of "tradition" thereby driving them to a more business friendly and progressive minded states/cities. Then and only then will we be able to step into the 21st century businesswise. And yes...it is greed, shortsighted greed.
