As I understand it, Spam was introduced to Hawaii during WW2 by the American servicemen stationed there. It was one of their staple K-ration items. The Hawaiians love it to this day. Here's some more info about this. http://www.wisegeek.com/why-is-spam-so-popular-in-hawaii.htm

Awesome pics as always, Lolly! That coconut custard looks delicious.
My daughter's 11th birthday party this past Saturday was tiki-themed. We had a tiki bar with two blenders doing smoothies, shish-kabobs on the grill, torches, limbo and hula contests, and 30 5th grade girls dressed in grass skirts.
