Sorry for the delay in writing this, but I just looked at my watch and was thinking to myself last week at this time I was having lunch with my new friends at The Red Gravy! It was great meeting all of you and wish I could have joined you on Monday for bar-be-cue. Sounds like another good time. I told the group I was having dinner that night at Restaurant R'evolution and a few asked me to write about it. My daughter flew in that afternoon from Atlanta and we first went to El Gato Negro for margaritas and then back to the hotel to change. We took a pedicab (loved them) to the restaurant. The address is 777 Bienvilles St. which confused me because I thought it was IN the Royal Sonesta and it is but the hotel is across the courtyard. It is a beautiful space. The rooms are done in different periods. But I was ready to get my game on with the food! We started out with French 75's from the bar and started to read the menu. It is HUGE!!!! I feel that might change that after some time. We ordered Death by Gumbo which has quail in it. I could only eat the quail (I am gluten-free which sucks when you are in New Orleans) but it was delicious. We ordered 2 small plates one was the seafood trio platter (salmon, tuna and a mix of calamari and shrimp) the other was the pig out which was a meat and cheese tray....all were scrumptious. We decided to share everything including an entree and that is where the only bump all evening came. After 45 minutes we had not received our entree. We finally told our waiter, who was fantastic, just to cancel it. The manager came over and handled the situation first class and comped the entree and brought it anyway which we barely touched. We were not mad just tired of waiting. They also gave us a discount on the bottle of wine we ordered. I felt so bad for the waiter so I tipped him 30%. I will eat their again in a heart beat. Special touches were they bring you a small stool (upholstered) to put your purse on and at the end of the meal they brought by what looked like a jewelry box with sweets in each drawer. I will eat their again in a heart beat. I had eaten at Upperline the night before and it was wonderful and steller service. We had brunch at La Petite Grocery, also wonderful and hit happy hour at Lukes for oysters. We enjoyed drinks at French 75, Pravada's, Napolean House (daughter had half a muff there also), and Lafittes Blacksmith. I know I am forgetting some but this is getting to be book length so I will stop here. Again, I enjoyed meeting everyone and Lee I hope your trip was as good as mine! Courtney
