FYI CopCop is attempting to post pics and details on the lunch we had but the website keeps dumping his posts. I hope he tries again later. We met the GM, Mike Raborn, who introduced us to Ti Martin and Chef Chris Lusk. It was very nice of him to take a moment out from the busy kitchen to come and meet with us. I had the gumbo & three tomato salad and he had the gaspacho (I thought he was going to lick his bowl) and a smashed veal poboy which he let me taste. It was so flavorful he even forgot to put the sauce on it. He also had a couple of .25 cent martinis! That may be the reason for forgetting the sauce..... I hope they keep the salad I had on the menu, or at least something similar. I just love tomatoes and whatever dressing was used.
Mike, if you read this, thanks for a memorable lunch. It was very nice meeting you. Hopefully pictures will be posted soon, the website is undergoing some changes.

Thanks for posting Mrs. Fury. The website wasn't cooperating with me for some reason. I tried with two different computers and had no luck.
My creole tomato and charred pepper gazpacho was amazing. What intense flavors! You're right, I almost picked up the bowl to lick it clean. And my Smashed Veal Daube Po-boy was a work of art! It puts every roast beef po-boy in town to shame. Serving it "Cuban style", i.e. smashed and grilled was a real plus. Chef Chris is a master. Your three tomato salad, Creole, grape and pickled green tomato relish, with mixed greens and tea smoked bacon was another hit. I notice you did some serious damage to your gumbo, too. Here's a picture of a bowl of gumbo you had on a previous visit to Cafe Adelaide:
Thanks to Chef Chris Lusk, Mike Raborn and Ti Martin for a memorable Cafe Adelaide experience today!
When ya'll go to these nice restaurants, does CopCop wear long pants?
In other news, I went with my friend from Colorado today to Liuzza's By the Track, I got the BBQ shrimp poboy. It was good, but not at all what I expected. The sauce was creamy rather than buttery. That surprised me, in a good way.

Hey Aloit! I love the gumbo there. It's different. I don't think I have had the bbq shrimp poboy. Is it really spicy? And to answer your question, yes, CopCop wears long pants to lunch. Ha ha ha ha!

Ya, I wear long pantses almost all the time now since I got those extra scars from the total hip replacements!
Hey, Aloit! How did you make out eating that BBQ shrimp po-boy? When I attempted to chow down on my first one the innards came squishing out and caused nearly fatal burns to my face! I now attack the varmints with a knife and fork!
Mrs. Fury, it was not spicy at all, but very flavorful. I would get it again if I ever venture into that neighborhood of Orleans Parish. The very nice waitress told us how wonderful the gumbo was, but I wasn't interested. Maybe I'll try it next time I venture into that neighborhood of Orleans Parish.
CopCop, it came with a knife suitable for cutting the bread and eating with a fork. I picked it up to see if I could eat it like a poboy. I knew it would end up on the front of me so I used the knife and fork.
Was there some talk that the shrimp there did not exactly sleep in a local gulf last night?
