Ate my way around downtown Covington (and beyond) this weekend. Went to Lola's in the old train depot Friday for lunch. Had a great sandwich on a nice dark herbie focaccia. The sandwich had turkey breast, bacon, avacado and a sun dried tomato aioli. Excellent. My dc had a chicken breast sandwich that he thought was wonderful as well.
We liked the place so much we went back for dinner. We shared three apps and an entree, then dessert. The crab cake app there is the best! It was worth going back just for that though everything was good.

Lunch Saturday was a burger and some buffalo wings at the Abita Brew Pub. Excellent burger.

Dinner that night was Del Porto. Absolutely amazing. Go. Just trust me.

Sunday brunch at Juniper. Go hungry if you go. The food is rich and there is lots of it.

Overall a great dining weekend.

I think your DC was the reason the food at Abita Brew Pub tasted good. I'm kidding. I think I "ordered wrong" the times I went. Glad you had a good time.

My blood sugar crash along the trace is the reason the burger was so good at Abita.

That does not sound good. Are you ok?

Oh sure, I'm good. We took off for way too long of a ride with only 12 ounces of water and a pastry for breakfast. Silly move. But we recovered and had a great time.

I haven't tried Del Porto or Lola yet. I don't get to the NS as much since I moved to Algiers Point.

Juniper is my FAVORITE!

I absolutely HATE Abita Brew Pub. Blech.

We really didn't 'plan' for the Abita Brew Pub but there was NOTHING along the Trace and I desperately needed protein...so...

Get to Del Porto....PRONTO! It was that good.
