 Post subject: Rice Farmers to the Rescue

Just heard on the local news that many of the local rice farmers are going to be compensated for not planting the next crop when this one is harvested in a few weeks. They're going to flood the fields to provide safe habitat for water fowl who will be displaced by the oil. So far, so good, for our little corner of the Gulf, but it's pretty clear that nobody is safe.
