Here I am trying to give you work, Mr. Lake, but it occurs to me than more helpful that the "Recommended Pages" shortcuts that appear at the upper left of the forums might be a list of the most recent posts or maybe the forums in which the most recent posts have been made. If not, a simple list of links to the most frequently visited forums may be more useful. Are either of these alternatives a feature that is offered by the software? I don't get what good the recommended pages are. I only use that list to avoid the index page. What makes those recommended anyway? Maybe others find them more relevant than I do.

Schatze, there's a "View New Posts" button near the top right. Is that helpful?

You mean the view active topics? Sure I use that. I was thinking of a quick reference thing to see if there was something new would be more helpful than the "recommended" ones.

Nope, there's a button below the date/time on the top right of the window that says "View New Posts" (right next to "View Your Posts"). Maybe it's not what you're looking for, but I find it useful.

View New Posts is what I use also. I only recently tried it, and now I navigate from there almost exclusively.

The "View new posts", as jockomo said, seems to be what you're looking for, schatze, but you have to be logged in to see it. As for the "Recommended Pages", that's a feature of the Amazon ad. I mentioned the ad when I first placed it on the site, asked if it was too much of an annoyance, and didn't receive any negative feedback. It's supposed to auto-generate pages of interest tailored to individual visitors but it doesn't always seem to do that. If anything, it might list a page that would have been overlooked via the "View active posts" and/or the "View new posts".

Thanks, Mr Lake. I'll make View New Posts my new friend. I don't find the other list annoying.

I like the 'view active topics'. It seems to cover everything for me.
