Our company uses it, mainly to protect laptops that people take home and use without the Virtual Private Network, when they get on line without protection from the company firewalls. (Like I am now. The firewalls now block out blogs and forums like this one.)

Spybot S&D is free, effective, and user-friendly. Lately mine has not been able to update from within itself; I've had to go to their website to catch the updates. I update it every week or two, immunize every time I update, and scan every month or so.
