I am scheduled for a lumbar laminectomy, my third, on Valentine's Day to relieve acute pain in my legs and hopefully allow me to walk upright again.
The surgery is a scheduled five hour procedure followed by an undetermined length of stay in ICU and at least one week as an inpatient followed by a two week +/- inpatient stay in a rehab hospital.
Please remember my wife, and care taker, in your thoughts and prayers, she will need the prayers more than I.
I'll keep the "Mr Lake family" informed.

T'anks, Chawlie....And, heh-heh, I learnt me some new spelling about you: When I grew up with words, Charles was shortened to Chas....But t'anks to a Forumite, I learnt me annuder spelling: Chaws! Consider me slayed!

But, again, Cha, Char, er, Chawlie t'anks for the news about Frank: And here's hoping that, if'n he's up there at Presby Hawspital as I was, he'll put a demand on the kitchen Krewe to, Medics permitting, put some Basil and some Dandelions and some Kale and some other salad-y Stuff and Thangs for him, with a side of Buffalo Wings! Oh. and some horseradish also: By golly, that'll have him up and about trying to hoe his way outta dere. (Pssst. But ax him to close the back of that gown: Pshaw!. Wouldn't want our tender eyes to see  no --- For shame, Ben! -- furrows!)...God Speed for the guidance of the surgeon's scalpel!
