Awe ya sure dat da gazebo is on Loyola's campus awe izzat Tulane? It jis looks like it goes bettuh wit Tulane.
I think it's LYE-ola's campus! It's out front of the old Dominican College on St. Charles. Woodint da Catlicks get the old Dominican College? It's confusing, both universities are taking over whole chunks of that neighborhood. The old mall/shopping area near Broadway and the River is full of Tulane stuff, Air Force ROTC offices, administrative offices and such. Ain't no more shopping at Uptown Square. They still got the Crescent City Farmers Market there on Tuesdays in the parking lot.

The Black Pearl is roughly bounded by the River, St. Charles Avenue and Lowerline Street. I haven't seen a satisfactory reason for the name of the area, save that it was once predominantly populated by Black families and that one of the streets running through it is Pearl Street.

I like the houses you posted. Especially the creepy one.
I'll have to introduce you to the neighborhood, Buffy, next time we do a "road trip to New Orleans". There are some really interesting houses up in there.
