File comment: They look great, I think, but they are not real. I bought the Momma and baby at the thrift store. The adolescent was my Mimi's. As for life on the pond we now have frogs and irises. I've missed the forums most of the week because I was playing and working in the country.

Gosh, that looks idyllic. I can't imagine having a week off - how fabulous. The pond will be beautiful and I expect your wildlife will increase! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Just wait until that all fills in and gets natural foliage growing. The local birdies will find it and make it their habitat. As I stated in another Mr. Lake forum, we were on a search today for a possible Fury/CopCop campsite. You look as if you've found a nice place. We are very happy for you and wish you much success in developing the area.

Male wood duck in breeding plumage.

I hope you'll take me up on my suggestion to place at least two wood duck nesting boxes in or near your pond. They are beautiful birds and the only ducks that naturally nest in trees. As such, they are at the mercy of predators and properly constructed nesting boxes will protect them.
