Well, tomorrow is the day. We went to the Lowe's last night and got a big tarp to lay the rugs on, more woolite and a new sponge mop. I don't want to rub the nap too much, will rely on the hose for most of the dirt removal. Have a wet/dry shop vac I can use to get some of the water out. Fortunatley, the rugs are not too dirty, but I don't like adding someone's old dirt to my dirt. Probably I am being too anal about this...

I was looking for a place to get two 5 by 8 foot chineese rugs cleaned. The cheapest price I can get is $2/ Sq ft, which is 80 bucks ea. I only paid 60 for each rug, so I may try to clean them myself on the driveway with woolite and a hose. Anybody every try that at home? Or better yet, anybody know of a less expensive place to take the rugs? I'm going to try the WB, thinking it might be a better deal over there...

Rawlean, I have a couple of cheapie oriental rugs that I do the Woolite, hose, scrub with a broom thing, then hang them over the fence. The results are very nice. I of course wouldn't do it with a real oriental rug, but on these, yes. My philosophy is that Home Depot has new ones for sale if I ruin these.

For anyone with an expensive rug, my friend who does textile repair (yes, she repairs good rugs - amazing!) recommends
Russell's Cleaners.
