To misquote Mrs. Fury: "I always cook with Jack. Sometimes, I even put it in the food."

My old recipe for Jacques Daniel's:

Take some Jack Daniel's wood chips.

Toast them lightly and briefly in a very hot oven.

When cool, put them in a glass jar that can be closed tight, about half full.

Fill the jar with cheap vodka, or diluted white lightning, and close tight.

Wait a month.

Strain and serve.

Save and dry the chips to use for their original purpose.
