I have Adobe Reader 8.1 something or other. How do I create a pdf document?

you create your document and when you hit "save as" pull down the file extension tab at the bottom and choose .pdf. At least this is how I do it, and I do it quite a bit in order to send Will stuff that he can open since he has a Mac and I have Windows.

What like in MS word? I don't have that option.

Hi Mrs. Fury,
You cannot create a PDF with Reader. You can only read one. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed to create a PDF.

HTH,
Erica

I managed to open it from your email. At first my Windows Mail tried to open it unsuccessfully in Office. Then I filed it in my Docs and opened it in Adobe Reader.

Mrs. F, my Word has a "PDF Create!" on the right-hand side of the File-Edit-View bar. I think my husband put it there, but I think he got it for free on the internet. If you don't want to buy Adobe Acrobat, try to find that. Or if you do end up buying Adobe Acrobat, go on amazon or ebay or somewhere and buy an older version. You don't need the newest, most up-to-date version if you just want to make pdfs.

Thanks expat. I'm trying to create a menu for Murray as a favor. It would help him (I believe) if I used the pdf format. I had all kind of trouble with some updates last night and had to spend half the night on the phone with HP. We shall see how much patience I have for trying to get free adobe cuz I can't see me buying it.
