I hope someone reads this and can answer a couple of questions about the game.

1. Why was the interception that Corey White had and fumbled in the 2nd quarter not given to the Saints?

2. Why was the obvious intentional grounding that Kapernick had in the 4th quarter not an ruled so and subsequently a safety?

We were at a sports bar and could not hear what was being said by the announcers. If anyone can explain please do so.

Thanks
Richard

1. He supposedly fumbled it forward into the end zone, resulting in a touchback? I couldn't see that. Looked like it went out the sideline to me. The announcers thought there was more of an issue of whether he was down where he first got the ball.

2. He was "well outside the pocket" so it wasn't intentional grounding. I didn't believe that one either. As for not being a safety, he got rid of the ball before he went into the end zone. That one I could see.

Thank goodness it all came out ok in the end! I'm hoarse and have a headache. And my ears are ringing even though I was wearing earplugs. I guess so, since the earplugs are rated 32 or 33 decibels, and the decible meter on the big screen showed over 100 for quite a while, and in the 116 range briefly.

The replays I saw seemed to show the ball going out of bounds and bouncing past the end zone...never touching it.
They treated it as a punt I guess...he should have held on to the ball.

Here's a clip of the play...looks like the Saints player slid into the end zone but lost the ball as he did...I thought that he just went out of bounds.
If he had held on to it then it would have been a Saints touchdown?

Is anyone other than me of the opinion that umpiring is not of the quality it use to be? Do the officials not concern themselves with being as accurate, figuring the replay guys will catch what they may miss? Do the officials sometimes think they may "owe" one team something for a marginal (bad) call earlier in the game?

Just some head scratching of mine. :?
