I woke up at 2:30 this morning for the LSU game. None of the TV or even radio stations that stream college football games on line do so outside the US, unless I wanted to hear Alabama on ESPN radio (NOT). I can't even buy a VPN subscription over here to pick up a subscription to college games; that will have to wait until I get home next week. I think I will be able to get the games on TV here once I have the laptop set up, because NFL Gamepass is working well for the Saints games. Anyway, last night I did find the online play-by-play, but it seemed to be stuck with 10:08 left to play in the first quarter.

After half an hour or so, I figured something was wrong, so I checked theadvocate.com and learned that the game was suspended because of lightning in the area. Then I pulled up a website with online radar, and sure enough, the area was full of severe weather. I opened up a book and checked the game every few minutes until 5 or so, time for my daily Skype call with my fiancée in Houston.

So the night before my first day of the work week, when I am filling in for my boss who is taking a day off to work on his dissertation, I got almost 5 hours of sleep; and didn't get to see, hear, or read what my Tigers were doing in real time in their first game of the season. I arrived at the office just about when they were cancelling the game forever.

No complaints about the delay or cancellation; the decisions were correct; however, it was most frustrating, as well as denying the young Tiger team a much needed chance to scrimmage against an outside opponent without any real danger of losing.

Thank you for listening while I vented.
